Queensland-based Creevey Horrell Lawyers has elevated three of its lawyers to senior positions, including one to principal.
Creevey Horrell has announced key leadership changes within the firm, promoting Ben van de Beld, who previously held the role of special counsel, to principal.
Based in the firm’s Toowoomba office, van de Beld joined the firm in late 2024 and has since led its dispute resolution practice.
Dan Creevey, the principal of Creevey Horrell, stated that van de Beld has been “instrumental” for the firm, particularly in supporting clients across “agribusinesses and rural enterprises throughout regional Queensland”.
The Queensland-based firm also elevated two other senior lawyers, with Lucas Hickey appointed as special counsel and Matthew McCarthy stepping into the role of associate.
Hickey has been with the firm for over four years, with Creevey noting how he has been “highly successful in enabling the firm to spread its wings into northern and north-west Queensland”.
Since starting as a paralegal, McCarthy has grown within the firm, with Creevey explaining how he has “gone to be a key member of our crime and misconduct team”.
Speaking on this round of promotions for the firm, Creevey stated it reflects the firm’s “ongoing commitment to recognising legal excellence and fostering leadership from within”.
“Ben, Lucas and Matthew are exceptional legal professionals whose contributions speak for themselves. Their leadership and dedication will help shape our future as the firm continues to grow and support clients across Queensland,” Creevey said.
“These promotions are a testament to the talent, hard work and integrity each of them brings to their role. It’s a privilege to work alongside such dedicated professionals who truly represent the values we stand for as a firm.”
