RCR Lawyers has returned to its original name, Rostron Carlyle Lawyers, as the Queensland-based litigation and commercial law firm approaches the 25th anniversary of its founding.

The SME firm explained that the name change follows the departure of a former named partner and underscores the continued leadership of founding partners Greg Rostron and Hamish Carlyle.

While the firm’s name has changed, Rostron, managing partner of Rostron Carlyle Lawyers, emphasised that the move represents a return to the firm’s roots and reflects its current standing in the market.

“Rostron Carlyle is a name well known and well respected across Queensland’s legal and business communities,” Rostron said.

“This return to our roots reflects where the firm is today – focused, established and expanding. We’re proud of our legacy, but even more excited about what’s ahead.”

The Queensland-based firm expressed that it “remains committed” to serving both individuals and corporate clients across a broad range of areas, including complex litigation, insolvency, commercial and property matters, corporate and business structuring, and migration.

The timing of the firm’s name reversion coincides with a major milestone, as it prepares to mark its 25th year in business on 1 July 2026.

Marking this milestone, Rostron reflected that 25 years in the legal industry stand as a testament to the trust clients have placed in the firm and the invaluable contributions of everyone who has helped shape its journey.

“Twenty-five years in the legal industry reflects the trust our clients place in us and the contributions of the many people who have been part of the firm over the years,” Rostron said.

This news follows the firm strengthening its criminal law expertise with the addition of two new partners to lead its criminal law practice groups last June.
