Andrew Goatcher (pictured) has joined Keypoint Law as a consulting principal, based at the firm’s Melbourne office.

His appointment marks Keypoint’s second senior lateral hire of 2026, following the appointment of Nicolina Lademann as consulting principal in the middle of February.

Before joining Keypoint Law, Goatcher served as principal at specialist IP firm Wrays, a role he held for more than four years.

With more than 30 years of experience in complex commercial litigation and intellectual property law, Goatcher has been described by the firm as an “accomplished senior lawyer with an outstanding record”.

Goatcher brings extensive expertise advising on and acting in high-stakes disputes involving patents, registered designs, trademarks, and copyright, as well as cases concerning allegations of misleading or deceptive conduct under the Australian Consumer Law.

Warren Kalinko, the CEO of Keypoint Law, expressed how Goatcher’s deep knowledge of intellectual property and commercial disputes, along with his well-established market reputation, positions him as a significant asset to the firm.

“Andrew’s depth of expertise in intellectual property and commercial disputes, along with his strong reputation in the market, makes him a tremendous addition to Keypoint,” Kalinko said.

“We are delighted to welcome him as our second consulting principal this year, further strengthening our capability to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.”

Reflecting on his new role, Goatcher expressed his enthusiasm for joining Keypoint Law and working alongside experienced colleagues to provide clients with tailored commercial advice and practical solutions for their unique legal challenges.

“I am delighted to be joining the team at Keypoint Law, where I look forward to working with a number of highly experienced and skilled colleagues in providing commercial advice to our clients and providing them with considered solutions tailored to fit their legal problems and particular circumstances,” Goatcher said.
