WA boutique firm Borrello Graham Lawyers has appointed a special counsel from rival boutique Hardy Bowen Lawyers.

Hendrik van Aswegen specialises in property and planning, as well as commercial and administrative law.

Mr van Aswegen graduated from the University of South Africa and was admitted as an attorney in South Africa in 2001. In 2012 he was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

Mr van Aswegen has experience in advising landowners and property developers in relation to land sales contracts, off-the-plan sales contracts, leasing and sub-leasing agreements and land use agreements.

Borrello Graham Lawyers managing principal Mark Borrello said: “Hendrik is an incredibly talented and sought-after lawyer, who adds significant depth to Borrello Graham’s already strong planning and environment and dispute resolution teams.”

He added: “Hendrik will work across both of those teams but will have a particular focus on planning and property disputes, including land compensation matters.”

The recently merged Borrello Graham Lawyers now has a team of 23 lawyers, including three partners, Mark Borrello, James Graham and Joe Lazzara.
