New corporate partner for Piper Alderman

Piper Alderman has announced the addition of former Clayton Utz partner Mark Williamson to its national corporate practice team.

Mark Williamson (pictured) has more than 25 years’ legal experience and represents New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ-listed companies in their operations and investments in Australia.

He has worked with Australian, US, and other off-shore corporate management teams, fund managers, investment banks, and other advisers on all aspects of executing transactions and establishing corporate groups, funds and transaction structures.

Managing partner Tony Britten-Jones said he was delighted to welcome Mr Williamson into the partnership.

“Mark is an exceptional lawyer who is widely regarded as a leader within the industry and we are delighted that he has chosen Piper Alderman to continue his professional legal career,” Mr Britten-Jones said.

Mr Williamson’s practice focuses on Australian and cross-border securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions, fund and managed investment structuring and joint ventures involving companies located in Australia and international jurisdictions.

“First and foremost, my practice and Australian and international client base needs a firm with a strong corporate presence and a firm that can provide first-class support in the areas of tax, funds, IP, litigation, insolvency and real estate – Piper Alderman does that,” Mr Williamson said.

The new addition to Piper Alderman’s partnership team follows a staffing expansion in January, when the firm hired a four-person specialist banking and financial services team from Hunt & Hunt.
