FORMER MALLESONS Stephen Jaques senior partner Jeff Mann AM has been signed up as special tax counsel by McCullough Robertson.

Mann joins the firm’s business division on a part-time basis, bringing his considerable knowledge in stamp duty and other tax matters. He will also remain a professor at the Australian Centre of Commerce, Law and Tax at the University of Queensland.

“I am delighted to join this leading group of legal specialists,” Mann said.

“McCullough Robertson’s business and revenue division has an outstanding reputation within the commercial community, and are well known as experts across stamp duty, taxation and commercial law. I look forward to further enhancing the legal services the firm provides its clients, and mentoring some of the younger members of the team on some of the finer technical issues concerning these areas of law.”

Mann has received numerous appointments and professional honours for his contribution to the legal profession, and has presented at conferences across Australia. He has also written the legal books, Law of Stamp Duties in Queensland and Duties Legislation in Queensland.

“[Mann’s] appointment is significant on a number of fronts, but perhaps most importantly, it allows us to service our clients with an even greater skill set while continuing in our pursuit of technical excellence,” Damien Clarke, head of the business and revenue division, said.
