To expand its deep bench of senior advisers, Baker McKenzie has named Kieran Egan as special counsel within the firm’s Australian tax practice.
Egan, who operates out of Sydney, brings over two decades of experience to Baker McKenzie, where he has guided both domestic and international clients through intricate tax landscapes.
His comprehensive background spans corporate and transactional taxation, tax disputes, restructurings, insolvency scenarios, state-level levies, the mitigation of tax risks, and foreign investment strategies.
Egan serves as a trusted adviser to prominent Australian corporations, investors, and government entities.
Over the course of his career, Egan has provided counsel to clients across numerous sectors, including energy, resources, technology, infrastructure, and real estate.
Having experience advising state governments, public and private corporations, and statutory authorities, Egan is known for blending extensive technical tax knowledge with pragmatic commercial insight and assisting clients in managing intricate deals, strategic decisions, and regulatory oversight.
