Government lawyers Emeritus Professor Dennis Pearce AO, Dr Gary A. Rumble and Alan Rose AO have joined the new Canberra office of HWL Ebsworth.

Rumble is leading the current review of allegations of sexual and other abuse in the Australian Defence Force. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Government and Administrative Law at the University of Canberra and a founding national executive member of the Australian Institute of Administrative Law.

Rumble recently spent 12 months as general counsel with the Department of Human Services working on the integration of Medicare Australia and Centrelink into the Department.

Pearce, a former Commonwealth Ombudsman who is assisting Rumble with the Defence review, is a leading authority on Commonwealth administrative law and has experience conducting investigations and inquiries for both the Commonwealth and the ACT Government. He joins HWL Ebsworth as a special counsel.

Rose is a lawyer and policy adviser with experience in the federal public sector, including 13 years as head of three federal departments including the Attorney-General's Department. He joins HWL Ebsworth as a consultant.
