Brands clean up in detergent sale

King & Wood Mallesons and Allens acted on the sale of laundry detergent brands by Colgate-Palmolive.

Deal: Colgate-Palmolive sold its laundry detergent brands portfolio in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji to Henkel. The portfolio includes well-known brands Cold Power, Dynamo, Sard, Kindness, Spree and Hurricane.

Key players: KWM’s multi-disciplinary team was led by partner Scott Bouvier along with Trish Henry, Andrew Gray, Tim Sherman, Malcolm Brennan and Mike Barker. Colgate-Palmolive’s legal team of Amber Stanley and Ingrid Stewart also worked closely with the KWM team.

Deal significance:

KWM partner Scott Bouvier said the deal built on the firm’s long relationship with Colgate-Palmolive.

“After many years of working together, we are delighted to have been able to support Colgate-Palmolive on this deal,” Mr Bouvier said.

“The complex sale brought together a range of specialist expertise from across the firm.”
