Special counsel joins K&L Gates

K&L Gates has announced that a new special counsel has joined its Sydney office.

Eric Boone (pictured) takes to the firm’s finance team in his new role. He joins from Baker McKenzie’s Sydney office, where he was employed for around nine years.

Throughout his career, Mr Boone has gained experience in overseeing a wide range of complex cross-border financings and US capital market offerings of equity and debt securities after eight years in the New York office of Milbank, according to a statement from K&L Gates.

“He is a highly regarded capital markets, banking and finance lawyer with extensive experience advising companies, banks, funds and asset managers in Australia, New Zealand and the larger Asia-Pacific region,” the statement read.

K&L Gates also noted that Mr Boone is recognised as a leading lawyer in Chambers Global and Chambers Asia-Pacific as a foreign expert for US capital markets, based in Australia.
