2017 leaders in Australasian M&A revealed

Mergermarket has released its 2017 full year M&A legal advisers league table, revealing that one firm has come out on top in terms of number of deals and total deal value.

Mergermarket has confirmed that Herbert Smith Freehills has taken out the top spot for number of deals and total deal value.

 
 

The global heavyweight recorded deal values of $53.2 billion and 85 deals total.

In terms of deal value, Allens claimed the number two spot, recording a deal value of $48.9 billion.

This was followed by King & Wood Mallesons with $43.4 billion, Clifford Chance with $28.6 billion and Debevoise & Plimpton with $27.8 billion.

In terms of total deals completed, Gilbert + Tobin nabbed second place, recording 66.

This was followed by MinterEllison with 61 deals, King & Wood Mallesons with 53 and Ashurst with 46.
