Boco Rock Wind Farm advised on project financing

Renewable energy company Boco Rock Wind Farm has been advised on the refinancing of its Snowy Mountains-based wind farm.

Firm: Herbert Smith Freehills (Boco Rock Wind Farm Pty Ltd); White & Case (lenders).

Deal: HSF has advised Boco Rock Wind Farm, owned by Thai-listed Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO), on the refinancing of the senior project finance facilities for its wind farm in the New South Wales Snowy Mountains region.

 
 

Value: Undisclosed. 

Area: Project financing.

Key players: The HSF team was led by project finance partner Elizabeth Charlesworth, who was assisted by senior associate Rupert Baker and solicitors Hiroko Ito and Matthew Selth.

Deal significance: “We congratulate EGCO on achieving a successful refinancing of their Boco Rock Wind Farm,” said Ms Charlesworth.

“Ensuring that projects now in their operational phase can achieve competitive refinancing terms demonstrates the maturing of the renewable energy market in Australia and we are delighted to have contributed to this excellent outcome for EGCO.”
