Sonia Whitehouse, who was formerly the director of Brisbane-based boutique firm HWS and a senior associate at Barry. Nilsson., has been appointed as a consulting principal at Keypoint.

Keypoint chief executive Warren Kalinko said the firm was delighted to have Ms Whitehouse join its ranks, as it continues to grow its team of “talented and client-focused lawyers”.

“Sonia brings first-class expertise in environment and planning to the firm, and adds further depth to our strong litigation practice,” he said.

“Her extensive experience and strategic approach will no doubt benefit our clients.”

Ms Whitehouse added that she is excited to be joining the firm.

“After more than eight years of running my own legal services business, I expected that it would be difficult to find the right workplace that would allow me the luxury of flexibility in the workplace whilst still providing clients with a first-class service. My expectations were proving to be correct until I was introduced to Keypoint Law,” she said.

“It is clear to me that Keypoint Law is committed to providing clients with a premium service and lawyers with a comfortable work environment, uninterrupted by convention and tradition.”

Ms Whitehouse’s appointment means that 41 per cent of Keypoint’s consulting principals are women, which the firm claims is “almost twice the average of female partners in law firms”.
