Dentons confirms combination with Malaysian firm
Dentons has officially launched a combination with a Malaysian firm as it ramps up its focus on becoming a "pan-Asian law firm that reaches more of Asia than its competitors".
The global law firm has combined with Zain & Co., a Malaysian full-service firm that has a particular focus on banking and finance, corporate, dispute resolution, real estate and intellectual property matters. Zain & Co. also has expertise in cybersecurity, blockchain technology, IP litigation, high-net-worth Islamic estate planning, and film and media, according to a statement from Dentons.

The move to combine with Zain & Co. comes as Dentons looks to up the ante on its south-east Asian presence, and follows its membership to the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN).
"The launch of this combination with a truly high-quality firm in Malaysia gives us an even stronger presence in south-east Asia and will further allow Dentons to pursue its strategy to become a pan-Asian law firm that reaches more of Asia than its competitors," said Elliott Portnoy, global CEO of Dentons.
