As of 1 February 2019, Thomson Geer has invested in Canberra-based public affairs company Endeavour Consulting. The move saw Thomson Geer come on board as a “strategic shareholder”, resulting in the business now being known as “TG Endeavour, Public Affairs”.

According to a statement, the “exclusive alliance between the firms” gives Thomson Geer’s clients “closer access to a team with specialist knowledge and experience of government and the public sector at the highest levels; Mark Brandon-Baker, Paul Chamberlin and former Senator, the Honourable Stephen Conroy combine to provide seamless tri-partisan insights”.

“Our core competence and focus is and will continue to be the supply of legal services. But this investment and alliance neatly extends our service offering into areas of regulatory and policy activity which I anticipate our clients will appreciate and value,” said Thomson Geer chief executive partner Adrian Tembel.

TG Endeavour chairman Stephen Conroy is confident the alliance is a win-win for both parties.

“I was an advocate for this deal. I like the fit between public affairs advice and legal,” he said.

“Modern government and business is now so interconnected in Australia that it just makes sense for regulatory, policy and legal advice to be as integrated and seamless as possible.”
