Area: M&A

Key players: Squire Patton Boggs corporate partner and Perth managing partner Tony Chong led the transaction, with assistance by partner Richard Horton, senior associate Michael Muratore and associate Blair Strickland.

Deal significance: Headquartered in Perth, Green Light Environmental advises on environmental approvals, reporting and compliance management and environmental impact assessments.

Meanwhile, Xodus Group provides engineering and advisory services to clients in the oil and gas, LNG, renewables and utilities industries worldwide, according to a statement from Squire Patton Boggs.

“The two organisations have worked together on a number of projects over the past years and identified ongoing synergies as a key factor in the decision to join forces,” the firm said.

“The acquisition marks a continuation of the UK-based consultancy’s growth trajectory since it established Australian operations in 2012. The acquisition comes off the back of a successful period in which Xodus has won significant new business in the region.”

Commenting further on the transaction, Mr Chong said: “We are delighted to have assisted Xodus with another strategic acquisition, which further strengthens its position as a leading consultancy and service provider.”
