Deal: King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) acted for Campbell Soup Company on the sale of Arnott’s Biscuits and sections of Campbell’s international operations to international private equity firm KKR.

Key players: Working in conjunction with Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, KWM’s team acting on the sale was led by partners Nicola Charlston and Cate Nagy, together with partners David Friedlander and Sharon Henrick. The team was also assisted by senior associates Vineetha Veerakumar and Christopher Kok and solicitor Alisa Wallace.
Deal significance: Definitive documentation in respect of the sale was signed in last week, after a competitive sale process lasting nearly 12 months.
The sale of Arnott’s Biscuits follows Campbell’s announcement last month of the sale of its Danish snack producer, Kelsen Group, to a Ferraro-affiliated company.
KWM has a long-standing relationship with Campbell Soup, having first acted for the manufacturer in its initial takeover for Arnott’s in 1993.
