HOLDING REDLICH is acting for Australia Post in its purchase of Beeline Courier Systems and Transmet Taxi Trucks in Melbourne.

The law firm said it was the latest step in the continuing expansion of the corporation’s messenger Post Couriers business, and was further evidence that the transport industry going through a period of consolidation.

Dan Pearce, a partner in Holding Redlich’s corporate practice, said once again they had worked closely with Australia Post’s in-house lawyer, Tristan Cleeve.

“Each purchase was different but we were able to draw on our previous experience together and our knowledge of Australia Post’s structure and requirements to complete the deal with a minimum of fuss,” he said.

“Working closely with a sophisticated client and its talented legal team makes for an efficient and cost-effective process.

“We hope to continue to assist in the growth of this part of our clients’ activities.”

Marilyn Awad, a senior associate in Holding Redlich’s corporate practice, assisted Pearce with the acquisition.
