Along with IE Law School in Madrid, the pair will take submissions and shortlist five startups “based on originality, financial viability and their ability to have a positive impact on major challenges faced by the legal sector”.
“The competition is for startups working on developing tech solutions that will have a positive impact on challenges faced by legal operators – private or public – as well as legal systems,” a statement from UNSW Law said.
“It’s also a chance to connect with investors, institutions, corporations, accelerators and thought leaders.
“The winners of each regional competition qualify for the finals in Madrid to be held in spring 2020. They will travel, all expenses paid, to the event and present to a jury of investors, academics and representatives of the legal industry.
“In Madrid, the winners also have the opportunity to share their projects and participate in an immersive experience where they will learn to develop tech solutions, create new business opportunities and develop a global network of contacts in the sector.”
The event marks one of several being hosted by UNSW Law and The Allens Hub for Technology, Law & Innovation in 2020.
