ACT Law Society welcomes new CEO

The president and council of the ACT Law Society have warmly welcomed its new chief executive officer.

Simone Carton is now at the helm of the ACT Law Society as its newest CEO. She has over 20 years’ experience across various sectors and a diverse legal history.

 
 

“Simone has come to us with over 20 years’ experience as a CEO, in-house counsel, and governance professional,” said Law Society president Chris Donohue.

“She has worked in a variety of sectors, including health and in advertising regulations, banking, aviation and the arts. Her legal background will serve her well in this role.”

Ms Carton has worked in a diverse range of legal, governance and operational roles across the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors.

Prior to joining the Law Society, Ms Carton was CEO of Australian and New Zealand Society of Palliative Medicine. Before that, she was an in-house counsel and company secretary for the Advertising Standards Bureau.
