 Ashurst boosts tax team with ‘big 4’ specialist 

International law firm Ashurst has appointed a new partner in its Sydney tax practice.

Costa Koutsis has been appointed partner in the firm’s Sydney tax practice.

Joining from PwC, Mr Koutsis is an indirect tax specialist with over 20 years of experience.

He is highly experienced in advising on the stamp duty, GST and land tax implications of complex transactions as well as engaging with revenue authorities.

Mr Koutsis’ experience stretches across a variety of transactions and industries including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, privatisations, restructures and property investment and development transactions.

He is known for working closely with clients and their advisers to identify, formulate and implement commercial solutions to indirect tax issues.

Mr Koutsis was at PwC where he was a partner for more than 10 years and the head of its national stamp duty practice. Prior to joining PwC, Mr Koutsis was a partner at Baker & McKenzie.
