Ms Jones operates in the firm’s competition and regulation team, based in Melbourne. Prior to joining Gilbert + Tobin in 2019 she spent 10 years heading up Swiss healthcare company Novartis’ global antitrust practice.
As per a statement provided by the firm, Ms Jones has extensive expertise advising clients in relation to mergers and acquisitions, collaborations, IP licensing agreements, manufacturing and distribution arrangements and investigations of cartel conduct and concerted practices.
She has substantial experience with multijurisdictional matters and in pharmaceuticals and healthcare, the firm added.
Gilbert + Tobin managing partner Danny Gilbert credited Ms Jones’ expertise as being a significant value-add to the partnership.
“We are delighted to welcome Susan to the partnership,” he said.
“Susan will continue to make a significant contribution to the firm, both to the future success of the Competition + Regulation group and as part of the firm’s broader leadership.”
The appointment of Ms Jones follows those of Stuart Cormack, Antonia Garling, Louise Klamka, Daniel Macpherson and Spiro Papadolias, who also joined the partnership earlier this year.
