Five V Capital closes fourth fund

Private equity firm Five V Capital has closed its fourth fund, comprising $550 million in capital commitments, with assistance from Gilbert + Tobin.

Firm: Gilbert + Tobin (Five V Capital)

Deal: Gilbert + Tobin (G+T) has advised Five V Capital on the formation and closing of its fourth fund. The oversubscribed fund received strong interest from both Australian and international investors and hit its hard cap on first closing.

Value: Comprised of $550 million in capital commitments.

Area: Finance.

Key players: The team was led by investments funds senior lawyer Judy Hsu, with support from lawyers Sam Kaelin, Jackson Martin and Catrina Chen.

Deal significance: Five V Capital is a private equity fund manager based in Sydney with a unique investment approach underpinned by a philosophy of alignment.

Commenting on the deal, Ms Hsu said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Five V Capital since their first fund. We have seen Five V’s funds under management and investor base grow to more than $1.1 billion since inception.

“In addition, the investor base now includes prominent global fund of fund investors, which is a testament to Five V Capital’s performance in the past few years.”
