Deal: Piper Alderman has advised the Rothery family on the sale of their Rockhampton bus transportation business, Rothery’s Coaches, in Queensland to ComfortDelGro Corporation Australia (CDC).

Deal significance: Rothery’s Coaches has provided services to the region since 1977 and is renowned for its iconic fleet of coaches, including one of the rare Denning decker buses in Queensland. They currently provide bus transport services to the Central Queensland region, with their key clients being the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Acciona, and Queensland Rail.

The sale of Rothery’s Coaches to CDC consolidates CDC’s interest in the Rockhampton and Capricorn Coast region as CDC now becomes the largest operator in the area after its acquisition of Young’s and Rothery’s.
