Area: Corporate

Key players: The Maddocks team was led by corporate partner Duncan Hall and senior associate Bernando Wood and supported by property senior associate Sam Troutman.

Deal significance: The acquisition has enabled national expansion into South-East Queensland’s fast-growing market.

Mr Hall commented: “This acquisition has been central to BINGO’s five-year plan for expansion across Australia’s eastern seaboard, a move that was particularly encouraged by strong support for recycling by the Queensland government.

“BINGO has already invested close to $1 billion in advanced recycling technology and assets in NSW and Victoria, and the new assets from United Waste Services will reinforce BINGO’s leading position in the market.

“The Maddocks team is very pleased to have assisted BINGO with achieving its ambitions, using our significant expertise in the waste industry across the changing regulatory and market issues.”
