Mr Houchar has acted for head contractors and subcontractors, as well as principals, developers and owners in both front-end and back-end construction and infrastructure matters, including on all aspects of contract management and disputes.
“I’m excited to be joining the construction and engineering team,” he said.
“Colin Biggers & Paisley has well-deserved recognition in the industry nationwide, advising major stakeholders on a range of complex and challenging projects.”
Partner Brad Kermond, who leads the Colin Biggers & Paisley construction and engineering team, said that the new appointment would help to further solidify the firm’s reputation as a trusted adviser to the construction and engineering industries.
“We have one of the country’s oldest, largest and most experienced construction, engineering and infrastructure practices,” Mr Kermond said.
“Basel’s experience greatly complements our team’s credentials and resources across the range of projects we are working on with our clients.”
Mr Houchar’s appointment follows the announcement of the practice’s largest-ever round of senior promotions, which came into effect this month.
