WaterNSW enters into development agreement for Phoenix Pumped Hydro project

Global law firm Ashurst has advised WaterNSW on the development agreement for the new Phoenix Pumped Hydro project at Burrendong Dam.

Deal: WaterNSW, a state-owned corporation that operates and maintains large dams across NSW, has been advised on the development agreement for the new Phoenix Pumped Hydro project at Burrendong Dam as part of WaterNSW’s Renewable Energy Storage Program.

Key players: The Ashurst team was led by partner Gareth Sage, who was supported by counsel Melinda Harris and Ben Kipic and associate Dan Trevanion.

Deal significance: Mr Sage said: “WaterNSW’s Renewable Energy and Storage Program encourages private sector investment in renewable energy storage projects by leveraging WaterNSW’s land and assets.

“We are proud to have advised WaterNSW on this significant milestone in this innovative program.”
