The Star advised on $800m equity raise by KWM
The Star Entertainment Group Limited has been advised by global law firm King & Wood Mallesons on its equity raising comprising an institutional placement and entitlement offer.

Deal: The equity raising, KWM said in a statement, forms part of a broader set of key capital structure initiatives being implemented by The Star, “which are designed to provide increased financial flexibility and assist The Star to navigate the range of prevailing operating and regulatory uncertainties impacting its business”, it noted.

Key players: The KWM team was led by partners David Friedlander, Rhys Casey and Amanda Isouard, who were supported by senior associates Mitch Fairbairn, Stacey Stellatos and Gemma McMahon, and solicitors Kate Cincotta and Piper Guthrie.
Deal significance: Speaking about the raise, Mr Casey said: “We are proud to have worked with The Star’s new board and management team on this important and complex raising, which is The Star’s largest equity capital raising since its demerger from Tabcorp in 2011.”
