Gilchrist Connell adds senior associate from Moray & Agnew
National law firm Gilchrist Connell has appointed a senior lawyer from BigLaw rival Moray & Agnew, who will sit in the firm’s national professional indemnity and D&O team.

Nicole Batista (pictured) has joined Gilchrist Connell and will be based in the firm’s Sydney office.
She brings, the national law firm said in a statement, “a wealth of experience” across all areas of financial lines insurance, including financial institutions, D&O liability and professional indemnity, as well as experience advising clients on high-value coverage issues, particularly in relation to financial institutions, corporate misconduct, and shareholder disputes.
She is qualified in both Australia and South Africa, routinely acts as defence counsel in claims against professionals, directors and officers and financial institutions and has advised insurers in relation to numerous class actions and regulatory proceedings in the financial sector, the firm added.
The news follows Gilchrist Connell’s recent promotion of 11 lawyers to more senior roles, including one to special counsel, six to senior associate, and four to associate, at the start of the year.
