Mike McKell (pictured) has joined Dye & Durham, bringing what the provider called “extensive experience and [a] proven track record” in the legal technology sector.

Mr McKell has worked in the space for more than two decades, the provider outlined in a statement, including at Actionstep, Litera, and InfoTrack, where his “strategic acumen and customer-first philosophy” helped lead those businesses’ market expansion and growth efforts.

His approach to driving sales excellence and his commitment to delivering innovative solutions to the legal industry, the provider went on, “have established him as a respected leader in the industry”.

The news follows the release of numerous studies from Dye & Durham, each detailing the state of affairs for technology uptake in the Australian market.

In October, the provider released its Australian Market Pulse Report, outlining the number of Australians who are uncomfortable with their lawyers using AI; in November, the Changing Legal Landscape Industry Report found that law firms will turn to artificial intelligence (AI) in the coming years as the increased use of tech becomes key for talent retention and efficiency; and in January, Lawyers Weekly reported that Dye & Durham’s December Pulse survey had discovered that one in four Aussies believes AI will benefit legal processes.

Speaking about the hire, Dye & Durham Australian managing director Dennis Barnhart said: “Mike’s reputation for fostering strong client relationships and his keen insight into meeting the evolving needs of the legal profession make him a standout addition to our Australian leadership team.

“We are making significant investments to bring world-class solutions, like Unity, to the Australian market to provide our customers with everything they need to run their legal practice, all in one place. Mike is uniquely qualified to ensure our customers can take full advantage of the benefits of Unity.

“His ability to translate complex technological concepts into actionable strategies aligns perfectly with our mission to empower legal professionals with cutting-edge solutions.”
