Karine Marianne (pictured) has joined Gilchrist Connell, following over 12 years at Moray & Agnew. She served as a special counsel for more than five and a half years at that firm. Prior to this, she was a solicitor at DLA Piper.

She brings, Gilchrist Connell said in a statement, a wealth of experience and a distinguished career in health law and will lead the firm’s NSW health law practice. She has worked exclusively in health law with industry-leading MDOs to support their members across a range of health practice, including doctors, radiologists, dentists, pathologists, pharmacists, private hospitals, and alternative healthcare providers.

The news follows the firm’s appointment of a new chief executive in late November and the addition of four new special counsel, three new senior associates, and six associates in September.

It also follows the appearance of the firm’s managing partner, Richard Wood, on The Lawyers Weekly Show in December, discussing firm identity, having good people, and leadership matters.

Speaking about the latest hire, Wood said: “Karine’s expertise across civil, disciplinary, and criminal areas makes her a go-to person for Medicare disputes nationally and health law matters in NSW.

“We look forward to the significant contribution she will make to both our team and our clients.”
