Global law firm Ashurst has moved its Sydney offices into a state-of-the-art building located in the heart of the city.
On Monday, 12 May, Ashurst moved into eight interconnected floors in 39 Martin Place, which provides direct connections to train and metro stations and boasts an office fit-out that was designed to achieve an Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) outcome.
It is the first law firm tenant in the building.
In a statement to media, the firm said the move signifies its commitment to providing an “exceptional experience” for its people and clients, and has been designed “on principles of collaboration, agile working, and premium client engagement”.
Across the eight levels are five working floors, an alternative work floor, a café and terrace area, space for events and training, and dedicated client floors for formal and informal meetings.
The working areas include sit/stand workstations, breakout spaces, technology-enabled meeting rooms, focus pods and rooms, drop-in benches, and an “increased number” of internal meeting rooms.
The firm said there would also be fixed or flexible work zones with moveable walls, furniture and screens to support complex legal and advisory work through collaboration.
Head of region, Australia, Lea Constantine, said the new office space would “bring our people and clients together”.
“The firm is committed to creating working environments where people are supported to perform at their best, both in the office and at home,” Constantine said.
“We have built a 21st-century workplace that serves our people and our clients.”
