In the financial year 1 May 2024 to 30 April 2025 (FY2024–25), global law firm Kennedys has reported 13 per cent growth, with a record revenue of AU$848 million (£428 million/ US$551 million / €511 million).

In Australia, the firm’s revenue grew by 32 per cent, to AU$68 million, versus $51.25 million the previous financial year.

The results mark the firm’s 11th consecutive year of growth, it said in a statement.

In addition to the substantial growth in Australia, Kennedys saw 27 per cent growth in Latin America, 22 per cent growth in North America, 11.5 per cent in the Asia-Pacific region, and 13.6 per cent and 8.8 per cent growth in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and the UK, respectively.

Kennedys has over 2,900 people across 47 offices in 20 countries.

Speaking about the results, Kennedys Australian managing partner Jonathan Wyatt said: “This extraordinary growth reflects the strength and depth of our Australian practice across multiple lines of insurance work, including financial lines, liability, property and construction, cyber and marine, as well as our prominent health law and commercial disputes practices.”

“Our integrated global platform has also been an important factor in driving this performance, with significant cross-border matters flowing through from offices, including Singapore and London. This result also reinforces Kennedys’ position at the forefront of insurance law in Australia, where our clients increasingly need sophisticated legal solutions to manage highly complex claims and other matters.”

“This growth trajectory positions us well to continue serving the fast-evolving needs of the insurance, healthcare and corporate markets via our four offices in Australia and around the world.”

The firm’s APAC managing partner, Matt Andrews, said: “The firm continues to maintain a strong level of market growth in APAC.”

“This year, Kennedys is celebrating 25 years in Asia-Pacific since the firm’s first office in Hong Kong in 2000. Building on our already strong global foundation, I look forward to our firm’s continued development across the region.”

The firm’s senior partner, John Bruce, said: “The firm’s global growth aspirations are clearly evidenced through these results.

“We have made deliberate strategic decisions, establishing new offices in key jurisdictions, while also prioritising new leadership across the firm.

“I believe this commitment to evolving our firm globally will continue to drive us forward collectively, while we remain laser-focused on delivering exceptional work for all our clients.”

“We have an ambitious goal of USD 1bn (GBP 740m/EUR 880m) global turnover by 2030. By investing in our people, processes and infrastructure and innovating together, we will create a firm that is fit for the future. I’m really excited for what lies ahead at Kennedys.”
