National law firm McInnes Wilson has appointed seven new principals and announced 10 additional senior promotions across its Australian offices.
Effective 1 July, McInnes Wilson has appointed seven new principals and promoted 10 lawyers to senior roles as the firm continues to grow its national footprint and celebrates its 50th year in operation.
In a statement, the national law firm said the lawyers promoted in this round reflect their “years of dedication, excellence in legal practice, and a deep commitment to the firm’s values”.
Among the newly named principals, five were internal promotions, which included Adam Abboud (insurance, Sydney), Anthony Farinola (insurance, Adelaide), Nancy Barakat (insurance, Sydney), Nicole Fitzgibbon (family law, Brisbane), and Seone Woolf (employment and IR, Brisbane).
These internal promotions are further bolstered by the addition of two lateral principal appointments: Angelina Kozary (disputes and insolvency, Sydney) and Scott Moloney (government, Canberra).
In addition to the new principals, the firm has elevated two lawyers to special counsel, six to senior associate, and two to associate.
The new special counsel appointments are Grace Mutch (Commonwealth compensation and insurance litigation, Melbourne) and Rhett Sugars (insurance, Adelaide).
Those promoted to senior associate include Alex Batakin (compensation, Brisbane), Georgia McNamara (corporate and commercial, Brisbane), Holly Furphy (insurance, Sydney), Michelle Gunawan (insurance, Brisbane), Roanne Mantino (employer liability and workers’ compensation, Brisbane), and Sally Asoyo (compensation, Brisbane).
Holly Holmes (commercial, Brisbane) and Nicola Cooper (employment and IR, Brisbane) have been elevated to associate.
National chairman Glenn Caligaris stated the latest round of promotions reflects both the calibre and commitment of the firm’s lawyers.
“These promotions are a testament to the outstanding calibre of our people. Each individual has demonstrated not only legal excellence but also the leadership and character that define our firm,” he said.
“As we celebrate our 50th year, it’s inspiring to see the next generation of leaders shaping our future.”
