Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has elevated 52 of its lawyers across its Australian offices to the position of senior associate, effective 1 July.

In a statement, the global law firm noted that nearly half of the promotions were within its corporate practice, reflecting the growing “demand for legal specialists within M&A and private capital markets”.

Other practice areas benefiting from the promotion round include disputes, finance, energy, real estate, and employment law.

Kristin Stammer, executive partner for Australia and Asia, said the latest round of promotions highlights the calibre and contributions of the firm’s lawyers.

“Our promotions recognise the legal excellence, commercial insight and strong leadership of some of our highest-performing people, as well as their commitment to an exceptional client experience,” Stammer said.

“Congratulations to all 52 of our newly promoted senior associates in our region on this achievement.”

The firm’s new special counsel are Isabel Chong (Sydney), Angell Jin (Sydney), Fergus Little (Sydney), William Marshall (Sydney), Daniel Oey (Sydney), Ellen O’Rourke (Sydney), Lana Ou (Sydney), Stephanie Rowell (Sydney), Raymond Sun (Sydney), Selena Tang (Sydney), Raul Vellani (Sydney), Nick Venn (Sydney), Samantha Wells (Sydney), Gilad Harel (Melbourne), Charles Pitney (Melbourne), Bevan Wang (Melbourne), Annie Zhang (Melbourne), Crusoe Flynn-Pittar (Melbourne), Hannah Whitton (Melbourne), Nini Lu (Brisbane), Hannah Kim (Brisbane), Frank Main (Perth), Wydren Png (Perth), Georgia Gee (Sydney), Anita Luo (Sydney), George Napier (Sydney), Christine Wang (Sydney), James Geremia (Melbourne), Katherine Muir (Melbourne), Ashley Seah (Melbourne), Zac Molloy Mencshelyi (Brisbane), Libby Plajzer (Perth), Alfie Bright (Sydney), Simon MacIsaac (Sydney), Phoebe Curnick (Melbourne), Lily Davies (Sydney), Venissa Chow (Melbourne), Frances del Rosario (Sydney), Jenny Cohen (Sydney), Hugo Dobson (Sydney), Aidan Higginson (Sydney), Jessie Sun (Sydney), Serena Trang (Sydney), Tia Liu (Sydney), Olivia Smedley (Melbourne), Ebony Garlick (Melbourne), Sakura Kajimura (Melbourne), Christopher Minus (Melbourne), Lynsey O’Neil (Perth), Annabel Seow (Perth), Arthur Hancock (Sydney), and Lachlan Taylor (Melbourne).
