RedeMont – a Gold Coast firm with a 40-year history – has added a new managing partner, who takes over from Ken Petty, who is stepping down after more than a decade in the role.

New managing partner Bryce Melville has spent the past 13 years at RedeMont as property partner and has more than 25 years of legal experience in Australia and the UK.

This marks a new milestone for the firm. After formerly being part of the MinterEllison brand, it rebranded as RedeMont in November last year, changing its name from MinterEllison Gold Coast after 26 years.

Petty will remain with the firm to lead key practice areas, including corporate advisory, governance, workplace relations, insurance and risk, and capital investment. He said the leadership transition was an important step for the firm.

“We’re always looking for ways to evolve, and leadership renewal is a vital part of that strategy,” he said.

“The timing is right to bring in a fresh perspective, and I’m confident Bryce will lead RedeMont into its next chapter with integrity and vision.”

Melville has spent almost three decades at RedeMont and its predecessor firms and has expertise across large-scale property transactions, government advisory services, and major development projects.

“It’s an honour to take on this position at a firm I’m incredibly proud to be part of,” he said.

“RedeMont has always been defined by its client focus, commercial insight, and legal excellence. I look forward to building on the strong foundations Ken has established and continuing to support our people to thrive as professionals and individuals.”
