NewLaw firm Hive Legal has appointed two of its lawyers to senior leadership positions, promoting one to principal and the other to special counsel.
After nearly a decade with Hive Legal, Rohila Rahimi (pictured) has been promoted to principal after initially joining the firm as an associate.
Since joining the firm in 2015, Rahimi has amassed extensive experience and played a key role in several significant capital markets and M&A transactions.
In a statement, the NewLaw firm expressed that she has developed a broad legal expertise spanning energy law, corporate matters, commercial contracting, and projects, with a particular focus on the electricity, gas, energy retail, and renewable energy sectors.
Reflecting on her promotion, Rahimi shared her excitement about stepping into a leadership role and reaffirmed her commitment to advancing Hive’s focus on innovation and client service.
“I am thrilled to join the principal group and continue to work with an exceptionally talented team who are always looking for, and finding, better ways to assist our clients, support our team and inspire the legal industry,” she said.
“I am very excited about the future direction of Hive and how we can further transform how we learn, collaborate, and deliver value with the emergence of new technologies.”
Andrew Brookes, principal at Hive Legal, highlighted Rahimi’s vital role in the firm’s growth from a start-up to an established player in the market.
“Rohila has played a very significant role in Hive’s story from start-up to a mature but progressive firm,” Brookes said.
“Her progression at Hive from an early-career lawyer through to a principal, and the admiration she has built with our clients, is a testament to her skill and commitment to Hive’s values. She provides a shining example of what we are trying to achieve here at Hive.”
Hive Legal has also promoted Danielle McCluskey to the role of special counsel.
Since joining the firm in 2017, McCluskey has leveraged her background in commercial contracting and infrastructure projects, while expanding her practice to encompass technology contracting and a broader range of general commercial work.
“I am genuinely very grateful to be stepping into this position. I love the challenge in the work we do at Hive – there are always new, and complex problems to be solved, and doing that within Hive’s creative and people-centred mindset really takes the cake for me,” McCluskey said.
“I’m excited to continue working alongside such talented and down-to-earth people and to contribute further to both Hive and our clients.”
Commenting on McCluskey’s promotion, Hive Legal principal Adrienne Trumbull highlighted the significant value she brings to the firm.
“Danielle is a true asset to Hive, bringing her commercial and no-nonsense, practical approach to her clients and teammates alike. We are very excited for her to be joining our senior leadership group and contributing to the future direction of Hive,” Trumbull said.
