“Lander & Rogers has an outstanding reputation for client service and legal excellence,” Gigliotti said.

“I’m excited to join the firm and contribute to its continued growth in the technology and data space, helping clients achieve secure and innovative outcomes in a complex digital environment.”

Formerly a special counsel at BigLaw rival Clayton Utz, Gigliotti has also previously served in senior roles at MinterEllison and Allens.

She has experience in technology, data and intellectual property law, advising both private and public sector clients.

Her experience also spans commercial and regulatory advisory work; she specialises in complex technology transactions, telecommunications and IP matters, financial service sectors, and privacy and cyber security.

She has helped clients navigate evolving regulatory frameworks and delivered on complex, business-critical technology projects.

She said that joining the firm represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the firm’s rapidly growing corporate practice.

“Lander & Rogers has an outstanding reputation for client service and legal excellence,” she added.

She was also recognised for her expertise in information technology and outsourcing by Best Lawyers.

Lander & Rogers’ partner and practice group leader of corporate, David Morris, said: “Margaret’s combination of legal expertise and commercial acumen, coupled with her deep experience in advising on transformational technology projects, will deliver significant value for our clients.”

He also said Gigliotti’s appointment reflects the firm’s continued investment in its technology and data capabilities.

This move followed recent news at the firm: its appointment of a new commercial disputes partner last month, its establishment of a Canberra office in July, its promotion of 44 senior lawyers in May, and the addition of a new real estate partner in January.
