Australian law firm Lander & Rogers welcomed new partner, Helen Sims (pictured), to its commercial disputes team in Sydney.
Sims is a senior lawyer who has served at Holding Redlich, Norton Rose Fulbright, the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office, and the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office.
She joined Lander & Rogers’ national disputes practice on 8 September 2025. This practice advises on complex commercial litigation, regulatory investigations, public law, and governance matters.
Partner and head of commercial disputes at Lander & Rogers, Jonathan Quilty, said: “Helen’s appointment reflects our commitment to strengthening our national capability in regulatory and public law disputes.”
Lander & Rogers serves corporate, government, and private clients and covers corporate transactions, insurance law, employment law, construction and infrastructure, digital and technology, commercial disputes and family and relationship law. It works closely with the TerraLex network of firms to serve a global clientele.
The firm’s newest commercial disputes partner has experience advising in administrative law, regulatory disputes, inquiries, privacy, and complex litigation.
It said: “Over her career, Helen has advised both government and private sector clients across law enforcement, financial services, health, education, and entertainment.
“She has acted in major regulatory matters, Royal Commissions, statutory inquiries, and enforcement actions, and has significant experience appearing as a solicitor advocate and instructing senior counsel in high-stakes disputes.”
Quilty said: “Her breadth of experience acting for government agencies and regulators, as well as her work for corporates navigating sensitive investigations, will be invaluable for our clients.”
This move followed recent news at the firm: its establishment of a Canberra office in July; its promotion of 44 senior lawyers in May; the and addition of a new real estate partner in January.
In a statement, Sims said: “I’m excited to join the commercial disputes team and continue working with government and private sector clients on their most important challenges.”
“Lander & Rogers has a strong reputation for integrity, excellence, and client service across complex regulatory and litigation matters.”
