TG Legal + Technology, sister brand to national law firm Thomson Geer, has moved to strengthen its retirement living expertise with the appointment of a senior lawyer to head up its retirement village rollovers practice.
Arthur Koumoukelis (pictured) has joined TG Legal + Technology as a principal and head of its retirement village rollovers practice, having most recently served at Thomson Geer as a partner, where he was a “driving force” in that firm’s health, aged care, disability, and retirement living team.
He developed and built the retirement and rollover practice within Thomson Geer, the firm noted, which ultimately became part of the TG Legal + Technology business.
In his new role, Koumoukelis will support village operators with the critical conveyancing and contractual needs of residents moving in and out of accommodation, and provide strategic advice across the wider aged care sector, leveraging his deep understanding of the intersection between seniors living environments and aged care, business, government, and community.
He brings, the firm noted, over 30 years of experience to the role, and is “one of Australia’s most respected legal advisers in the sector”.
Speaking about his new role, Koumoukelis said: “I’m looking forward to leading the TGLT rollovers team and working hand in hand with clients to deliver practical, resident-focused outcomes.”
“This is a once-in-a-generation moment of reform and integration of aged care and retirement villages, and we are committed to helping operators navigate the evolution with confidence.”
