Among the 45 lawyers promoted to partner across White & Case’s international offices, two were Australian.
Melbourne-based lawyers Paul Marshall and Girish Rao were promoted to partner in White & Case’s global promotion round.
Marshall works from the project development and finance practice, where he advises on energy and infrastructure financings and focuses on renewable power generation and storage.
He also has a particular experience in offtake agreements and financing large-scale conventional and renewable energy projects.
Rao advises investment funds and companies on Australian and cross-border acquisitions from the mergers and acquisitions team.
He has also advised on disposals and joint ventures and has a particular focus on the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors.
The remaining promotions ran across White & Case’s 20 offices in 14 countries throughout the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions.
They are effective from 1 January 2026.
Commenting on the promotion round, chair Heather McDevitt said the new partner class “underscores the strength of our global practice and reflects the growing demand for legal services in the critical industries in which we lead”.
“Individually, each new partner has shown a steadfast commitment to collaboration across borders and practices – the defining characteristic of our firm – to help our clients succeed in their most challenging moments,” McDevitt said.
“We are proud to welcome these 54 exceptional lawyers to our partnership. We look forward to their many contributions as partners, and to continuing our development of talented lawyers around the world.”
