With more than 15 years of experience in health law, national law firm Moray & Agnew has elevated one of its seasoned lawyers to the partnership.
Moray & Agnew has promoted special counsel Kate Cooch (pictured) to partner in its Victorian health law team, following her arrival at the firm in the middle of the year.
With over 15 years of experience in medical malpractice and health law, Cooch has represented a wide range of clients – including private hospitals, medical practitioners, radiology providers, paramedics, allied health professionals, dentists, and IVF clinics – as well as statutory bodies in disciplinary proceedings.
In a statement, the national law firm said Cooch’s practice often sees her navigating highly “complex and sensitive matters” across the health law landscape.
Before joining Moray & Agnew, Cooch spent more than 16 years at BigLaw firm MinterEllison, where she served as a senior associate.
Reflecting on her promotion, Cooch shared how she was honoured to join the firm’s partnership ranks and looks forward to continuing to support clients as they navigate the increasingly complex legal challenges facing the healthcare industry.
“I am delighted to become a partner at Moray & Agnew and to continue supporting our clients as they navigate complex and sensitive matters in the health law space,” Cooch said.
“It is a privilege to be working with an exceptional group of clients, colleagues and health professionals, and I look forward to continuing those relationships in this role.”
Adam Stevens, partner and head of Moray & Agnew’s Victoria health law team, shared how Cooch’s experience and deep knowledge in the field make her a valuable addition to the firm’s partnership.
“Kate is a highly experienced practitioner whose expertise and skill set make her a great addition to the partnership. I am truly thrilled for her and look forward to working alongside her so that we can continue to deliver outstanding results for our clients,” Stevens said.
Bill Papastergiadis OAM, managing partner at Moray & Agnew’s Melbourne office, said: “Kate’s promotion reflects her outstanding contribution to the team, the firm and clients – we are proud to welcome her to the partnership.”
This news follows the firm naming a new national managing partner and NSW managing partner at the end of June, elevating 25 lawyers to more senior roles, including six new partners, in the same month, and promoting 17 of its lawyers to more senior positions at the start of the year.
