Chief Justice Richard Niall and the Victorian Bar have announced the appointments of 21 new senior counsel.
Victorian Bar president Justin Hannebery KC has extended his congratulations to the 21 “distinguished members” of the Victorian Bar who were appointed senior counsel.
“The significant appointment recognises their exceptional skills as advocates and their esteemed position within the legal community.
“We are proud of their achievements and wish them continued success as they enter this new phase in their careers,” Hannebery said.
The new senior counsel are:
Hannebery thanked Chief Justice Niall for his “considered evaluation” of the 2025 senior counsel candidates.
“His commitment to this extensive process, which involved wide-ranging consultation and careful deliberation, is deeply valued.
“We are truly grateful for his ongoing commitment and support for this important task,” Hannebery said.
The silks were chosen from 95 applicants: 66 men and 29 women.
They will be welcomed by the Supreme Court on 24 November.
