A partner with a track record of providing corporate and commercial advice is set to rejoin Clyde & Co from Gilchrist Connell.
From 8 December, Clyde & Co’s new partner hire, Malcolm Wood, will improve its corporate, commercial and insurance offering.
Wood is experienced in corporate governance, establishment, funding and distribution, mergers and acquisitions, and exits.
Within the insurance space, Wood has provided advice in large and complex legal proceedings that have attracted major public interest.
Australia managing partner Rebecca Kelly said Wood’s arrival has significantly enhanced the firm’s capabilities.
“With this strengthened offering, we are exceptionally well positioned to support our corporate and insurance clients in successfully navigating risk, regulatory change, and the complexities of today’s dynamic business environment,” Wood said.
With specialisation in corporate, commercial and mergers and acquisitions, Wood has provided services to start-ups and ASX-listed entities for corporate governance, buy-ins and structuring, capital raising, expansion and exit transactions, and various commercial arrangements and agreements.
He also has extensive experience in financial lines and directors’ and officers’ advisory work and defence work.
Head of insurance Gareth Horne said: “This further strengthening of our capabilities in these areas will ensure we meet strong client demand arising in the context of the rapidly changing regulatory landscape.”
