Victorian Bar names new president for 2025–26 term

A highly experienced trial and appellate barrister has been appointed president of the Victorian Bar for the 2025-26 term.

Fiona Ryan SC was appointed president of the Victorian Bar to work alongside new vice presidents Mark Costello KC and Raini Zambelli.

Ryan has extensive trial and appellate experience, including in accident compensation, institutional abuse, medical negligence, general torts, coronial inquests, administrative law, and class actions.

 
 

Costello is experienced in commercial and public law, and has appeared in various royal commissions, including as counsel assisting the financial services royal commission.

Zambelli specialises in corporate and commercial law, where she has a core focus in insolvency, financial and cross-border disputes.

The Bar has also appointed honorary treasurer Albert Dinelli KC and assistant honorary treasurer Ffyona Livingstone Clark.
