Global firm Wotton Kearney has welcomed Lana Remedi (pictured) as a partner to its cyber, privacy, and technology practice.
Remedi is nationally recognised as a leader in cyber law and incident response, the firm said in a statement, and has successfully managed high-stakes data breach regulatory investigations. She was named Cyber Security Professional of the Year in the professional and financial services category at the 2025 Australian Cyber Awards.
With extensive experience in cyber incident response, Remedi has advised on complex cyber issues, which include privacy compliance, mandatory notification obligations, and the defence of third-party claims – in both litigated and non-litigated cases.
Currently serving on the NSW committee of the Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA), Remedi founded the association’s cyber committee, of which she is the chair, leading conversations about digital transformation and cyber risks in the insurance industry.
She felt “excited” to join the firm’s cyber, privacy, and technology practice, to guide clients through the complexities of cyber threats and digital risk. The firm’s head of cyber, privacy, and technology, Kieran Doyle, called her an “exceptional addition” to the practice, due to her well-regarded “deep expertise” and “thought-leadership” in the industry.
Remedi’s appointment follows other news at the firm, including its appointment of a new chair in August, its acquisition of a Clyde & Co partner to establish its new Bangkok office in May, and its appointment of a new government practice partner in February.
