Stephanie Flegg from the private clients practice, Andrew Yahl from workplace law and culture, and Nina Israil from insurance have been appointed partners at Bartier Perry.

The new senior associates are Montana Messina and Tugce Celenk from private clients, and Maddi Chaplin, Jamie Coleman, Brianna Caputo, and Sahra Magan from the insurance practice.

The promotions are effective from 1 January.

Referring to Bartier Perry more than doubling in recent years, CEO Riana Steyn said the firm is seeing the “long-term people strategies and systems we put in place continue to deliver significant advantages”.

“It is particularly pleasing that eight of the nine senior associate and partner promotions are off the back of a long-term pipeline talent development strategy to bring more women into senior roles.

“That change does not happen quickly or easily in any organisation, but at Bartier Perry it is happening,” Steyn said.

The firm has added a formal graduate program with up to 12 positions annually.

Steyn said clients appreciated the high level of partner involvement on matters, but the firm was equally keen to assist future successors with organic growth.

“It is and always will be important to attract lateral talent into the firm, but equally it’s incredibly rewarding to be able to put in place a long-term focused graduate programme that aims to bring through the next generation of legal leaders,” Steyn said.
