The members of the 2026 Law Council of Australia executive have been officially elected and welcomed by outgoing president Juliana Warner.

Former president-elect Tania Wolff, along with president-elect Elizabeth Shearer, treasurer Lachlan Molesworth, and executive members Jennifer Ball, Justin Stewart-Rattray, and Ante Golem, were all elected to the executive.

Warner expressed her gratitude to the executive team and reflected on the collective efforts of her tenure, praising members for their dedication to shaping policy, strengthening democratic principles, and advancing the public good.

“The 2026 executive consists of individuals dedicated to advocating on behalf of the profession and community to shape policy, improve our laws and defend our democratic principles,” Warner said.

“I thank them for their support and guidance over the past 12 months. It has been a privilege to serve as the president of the Law Council.

“I welcome Tania into the president’s role knowing she will continue to push for change for the better, focus on the health and wellbeing of our profession and prioritise issues that still need urgent resolution, including access to justice and youth justice.”

Speaking at the Law Council’s Gala Dinner last week, president-elect Tania Wolff paid tribute to Warner’s leadership and acknowledged the honour of stepping into the top role.

“As I step into this role, I am conscious that I do so on the shoulders of giants of our profession – not least of all our current president, Juliana Warner,” Ms Wolff said.

“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to represent a profession I love – one that has enriched my life and career, and whose members inspire me daily through their service to clients and their community.

“As president, my focus will be on advancing the values at the heart of who we are and shining a light on the essential character of the work we do.”
