A Melbourne-based tax specialist has joined the partnership at Jones Day, as part of a cohort of 33 worldwide for the global firm.
BigLaw firm Jones Day has appointed Lauren S. Moses (tax, Melbourne) to its partnership. The appointment was effective on 1 January.
The news follows the firm’s appointment of a litigation partner from HSF Kramer in October and its hiring of an employment partner from Ashurst in August.
According to the firm’s website, Moses’ “in-depth experience managing commercial and strategic tax issues enables her to achieve successful outcomes for clients as they face the complexity and challenges of tax disputes”.
She has, the site continues, “represented taxpayers through the full life cycle of a tax dispute, and her prior experience in the Australian government and court system gives her a unique view of all the perspectives of a tax dispute in order to help clients resolve disputes as favorably and expeditiously as possible”.
Speaking about the promotions, Jones Day managing partner Gregory M. Shumaker said: “This class of new partners once again reflects Jones Day’s ability to provide our valued clients the guidance and legal solutions for their most complex business challenges across the globe.”
Jones Day has more than 2,500 lawyers across 40 offices on five continents.
