BigLaw firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth has appointed a partner for its tax team from global rival Baker McKenzie.
National law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth has revealed the addition of a new tax partner, Janet Cho, to its lineup of tax law professionals.
Cho joined the Sydney firm and specialises in indirect taxes and structured transactions, with a particular focus on stamp duty, land tax, and GST.
Gavin McLaren, Corrs senior partner and CEO, said Cho was experienced in property and funds structuring, IPOs, mergers and demergers, corporate M&A, and complex corporate restructures.
“Janet has significant experience working on complex and high-value transactions, and her appointment further strengthens our market-leading tax team. We are delighted to welcome Janet to the Corrs partnership.”
McLaren added that Cho’s appointment followed a series of other high-profile senior appointments to the Corrs tax practice.
“Most recently, Costa Koutsis joined the team from Ashurst, where he served as global co-head of the firm’s tax practice.”
“These senior appointments, along with other recent hires in the tax team, have reinforced Corrs’ position as a leading legal advisor in indirect tax.”
